Accountants Celebrate Exam Successes

Accountancy firm Moore Thompson, which has clients across Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, is celebrating the success of staff members in their professional examinations.

Laura Cook has passed the professional level papers P1 (professional accountant), P2 (corporate reporting) and P3 (business analysis) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and will now sit her two final papers in December 2008. Lucy Robinson also passed the P2 paper.

Clare Daws has passed ACCA fundamental level papers F8 and F9 (audit and assurance and financial management) and will now sit professional level papers in December 2008. Matt Upex has also passed the F9 paper while Hannah Neve has passed papers F5 and F6 (performance management and taxation).

There were also a string of successes in exams forming part of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification process. Rebecca Roberts and Jenny Cousins are now qualified as members of the AAT while Ainsley Johnson passed two technician level papers that form part of the final stage of qualification.

Clive Himsworth, Rachel Hasings, Emma Flowers, Nicola Dickson and Tracey Harris all passed two papers at intermediate level, which precedes the technician level.

Meanwhile, Moore Thompson has welcomed two new members of staff to its Spalding office. Karen Tomlinson and Craig Tolliday are both training towards qualification with the AAT, along with fellow new recruits Kirsty Evans-Clark, who has joined the Wisbech office, and Lisa Tomlinson, at the firm’s third office, in Market Deeping.

Tyrone Murphy has joined Moore Thompson’s sister firm MT Financial Management as a paraplanner, supporting financial advisers and planners within the team.

Mark Hildred, managing partner at Moore Thompson, said: “We are delighted at our colleagues’ exam successes as they build their professional skills to their own benefit and that of our clients.  We are also pleased to welcome our new recruits because it is through the ongoing growth of our team and its skills that we can continue to develop the accountancy and financial services we offer.”
