Local professionals get competitive at accountants charity quiz night

Teams of professionals from across the East of England have taken on the tough questions at Moore Thompson’s annual charity quiz night.

The firm of accountants, which has offices in Spalding, Wisbech and Market Deeping, welcomed a large crowd of the region’s top business brains to the event, which was held in aid of the practice’s in-house charity the Moore Thompson Charitable Fund CIO.

Held at the Function Suite, South Holland Centre in Spalding, the quiz night featured a wide range of subjects, as well as a charity raffle packed with prizes donated by local businesses. In total the evening raised £1,479.70 for the charity fund.

A team from Chatterton Solicitors consisting of Sarah Moxon, Daniel Elkington, Emma Johnson and Richard Tomlinson won the quiz and were presented with a trophy from Mark Hildred, Moore Thompson’s Managing Partner.

Mark said: “This year’s charity quiz was hotly contested and we saw a high number of professionals turnout to take on the challenge. Everyone had a really enjoyable night and we are delighted to have raised nearly £1,500 for our charity fund, which this year is supporting the local charities Lives and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

“I would also like to congratulate Chatterton Solicitors on winning the quiz, as well as thanking all of those who attended and gave so generously during the evening.”

Moore Thompson raised more than £2,600 through a number of charity events and sponsored activities last year, which it donated between local branches of Cancer Research and the Princes Trust.
