GRANTS APPLICABLE TO THE LINCOLNSHIRE AND CAMBRIDGESHIRE AREA

FUNDER:  The Key Fund

The KEY FUND provides social investment in the form of loan finance to limited companies, community interest companies, LLP, cooperatives and charities.  The loan may be blended with grant or equity.  To qualify, organisations must deliver positive social impact and/or environmental change and have been refused financial support from commercial lenders.

Value:  Usually £2,500 – £150,000 although there may be limited flexibility.  (Terms of loans and size dependent on trading history.)

Deadline for applications:  Applications can be made at any time.


FUNDER:  DEFRA

WASH FENS RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (LEADER) provides funding to support activities that generate jobs and growth in the rural economy.  Local businesses, farmers, growers, foresters, and community organisations in parts of South Holland, Boston, South Kesteven and Bourne (excluding town centres) can apply.  LEADER can fund: investing in specialist equipment, innovative technology, processing, marketing, new or improved premises, developing and marketing new products etc.  To be successful, proposed activities must contribute to one or more of DEFRA’s six priorities.

Value:  Average grants will typically be limited to a maximum of 50% of the project’s total eligible costs and within the range of £2,500 – £40,000; although higher grant amounts will be offered in exceptional circumstances.

FUNDER:  Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP

SIGNPOST2GRANTS can provide a grant towards 20% of project costs for micro or SME businesses located within the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough area (Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Rutland, West Norfolk, West Suffolk, North Hertfordshire, South Holland, or Uttlesford).  To qualify, applicants must be planning to grow and employ more staff in the future.

Value:  £2,000 – £20,000 to support capital investment projects.

Deadline for applications:  Expressions of interest can be submitted at any time.


FUNDER:  Advanced Demand Side Management (ADSM)

The AQUAFUND NATIONAL GRANT SCHEME is designed to support organisations in the private and public sectors to reduce energy and water consumption and to help realise significant water savings over 60 months.  Organisations can expect to save between 20% and 30% on their water consumption. The AquaFund provides the financial assistance, resources and expertise necessary to reduce water usage and save costs, including: site surveys, installation and maintenance of water saving equipment, validation of water bills, legal and admin resources to optimise tariffs, and investigation of water consumption anomalies and potential leaks.  50% of any savings generated will need to be paid back into the fund.  To qualify, applicants must spend a minimum of £1,500 annually on water.

Value:  £100,000 – £500,000 (dependent on the size of the portfolio).

FUNDER:  Advanced Demand Side Management (ADSM)

The AQUAFUND MINI helps organisations in the private and public sectors to realise real financial savings on their water bills and efficiencies in their water use over a 12 month period.  The fund will carry out a desktop analysis including a full audit of water billing data, analyses of historical billing data, identifying overcharges or mistakes, obtain refunds and rebates, analyse your water consumption, showing you how it compares to similar buildings, and challenge and negotiate tariffs with your supplier.  To qualify, applicants must spend a minimum of £500 annually on water.

Value:  Dependent on the size of the portfolio.

FUNDER:  Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP

The AGRI-TECH GROWTH FUND provide grants to farmers and other SME businesses operating within the food and drink industry in 25 local authority areas, including Fenland, Peterborough, Rutland, Huntingdonshire, South Holland and South Kesteven.  Applications will be considered from sectors such as food processing, as well as related industries such as process engineering, packaging, mechanical, electrical and software engineering. The aim of the fund is to support improvements in agricultural productivity through the introduction of new products or processes and encourage improvements to existing product/processes and energy efficiency.  Applicants must be intending to create permanent long term employment through new jobs, or protecting existing jobs.

Value:  £10,000 – £150,000 (up to a maximum of 25% of the total cost of the project).
