Payroll Bureau - Construction Industry

If your business is in the construction sector, you will be aware of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) that came into effect on 6 April 2007 – and the heavy financial penalties charged for late returns under the scheme.

Contractors must now send a monthly return to HM Revenues and Customs (HMRC) that includes:

  • details of all payments made within CIS to all sub-contractors
  • details of any deductions made from payments to sub-contractors
  • verification of employment status – that is, whether they are sub-contractor or employed.

Even if no payments have been made during a month, a nil return must be submitted.

Here at Moore Thompson, our expert team fully understands the requirements of CIS and provides a specialised Payroll Bureau service that fulfils all your responsibilities, including:

  • maintaining records of all your subcontractors
  • producing payment and deduction statements for your subcontractors
  • completing and submitting month-end returns and submission to HMRC.

Please contact Mike Longley or Sandra Munday on 01945 465767 for further details of our CIS Payroll Bureau and a competitive quote.
