Spalding Business Club to look at the important role of women in engineering

A special talk hosted by two of the region’s leading female engineering experts is to be held in Spalding as part of the town’s monthly business club meetings.

Mandy Skayman, Employability Skills Lecturer at Boston College and Barbara Mehew from Princebuild, a family run business that specialises in engineering and construction will address a crowd of local business leaders at the latest Spalding Business Club meeting on 3 December at Bookmark Spalding, 18/20 The Crescent, Spalding, PE11 1AF.

During their discussion they will look into the active role women play in modern engineering, the importance of the sector in the local economy and the future prospects for women in the engineering industry.

Those who attend will be able to enjoy a breakfast and refreshments for a small fee of £8.

Ken Maggs, a Partner at Moore Thompson and one of the founders of Spalding Business Club, said: “This event will offer local businesses a unique insight into the role women play in modern engineering and the value they add to the regional and national economy through the important work that they do.
