{"id":19680,"date":"2022-08-09T12:09:53","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T12:09:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/?p=19680"},"modified":"2022-08-09T12:09:55","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T12:09:55","slug":"help-to-grow-digital-scheme-receives-a-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/help-to-grow-digital-scheme-receives-a-boost\/","title":{"rendered":"Help to Grow: Digital Scheme receives a boost"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/M.T.-Blog-Graphic-01.08.2022-1-2-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19682\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/M.T.-Blog-Graphic-01.08.2022-1-2-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/M.T.-Blog-Graphic-01.08.2022-1-2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/M.T.-Blog-Graphic-01.08.2022-1-2-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/M.T.-Blog-Graphic-01.08.2022-1-2.png 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>More than a million businesses can now benefit from Help to Grow as the eligibility criteria have been expanded to cover businesses with at least one employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>In real terms, this means up to 1.2 million businesses could benefit from this expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the Help to Grow scheme?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Help to Grow scheme is designed to provide Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) leaders with free information and support to help them adopt and implement new software solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme provides tech support and allows eligible businesses to apply for grants which cover up to 50 per cent of the costs of cutting-edge software for customer relationship management (CRM), eCommerce, and digital accounting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The software must be approved and worth up to \u00a35,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this mean for SMEs?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expansion of this scheme, which came into effect on 25 July 2022, will see a huge boost in productivity and the growth of the UK\u2019s small businesses not previously covered by the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advanced CRM software, generally speaking, has been proven to boost productivity by around 18 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme now also covers eCommerce software to help businesses increase sales of their products and services online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope of the eCommerce software reaches inventory management, taking payments, and key insights into customer habits and behaviour to open new avenues of sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is well documented that businesses which adopt eCommerce software see a 7.5 per cent increase in employee-to-customer sales over three years on average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Does my business qualify?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To qualify for the financial discount, businesses must meet all of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be based in the UK and registered with Companies House or be a registered society on the Financial Conduct Authorities Mutual Register<\/li><li>Employ at least one individual who is not the owner, up to a maximum of 249 individuals<\/li><li>Actively trading for over 12 months and have an incorporation date of at least 365 days before applying<\/li><li>Be buying the approved software for the first time.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As the catchment for the Help to Grow Scheme has expanded, it is worth looking into whether your business qualifies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information on the scheme and the application process can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.learn-to-grow-your-business.service.gov.uk\/\">h<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.learn-to-grow-your-business.service.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.learn-to-grow-your-business.service.gov.uk\/\">re<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Need advice on related matters?
