But they can be difficult to obtain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst the Government offers a range of grants, these are usually for specific projects and are offered on a competitive basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To prepare for an application you need to do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Identify your reasons&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to prove why your business should receive the grant, over another business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, the first step is to identify what you want to achieve and how a grant would allow you to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask yourself the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What is your current position?<\/li><li>Where would you like to be?<\/li><li>Is there a particular sector you would like to branch out into?<\/li><li>How much money would you need to achieve your goal?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do your research <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have an overview of how you would use the grant, you will have insight into which grants you could apply for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you wish to grow your business but you need to invest in digital accounting software to improve productivity, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk\/grants\/help-to-grow-digital\">Help to Grow: Digital<\/a> scheme is a great option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whereas if you are looking to invest in cutting-edge technology, your business could be eligible for research and development-based grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prepare your business<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned, you need to make a convincing case for your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, make sure you have a solid business plan in place.
