Peterborough in Cambridgeshire is an ancient city located on the banks of the River Nene. It has been a site of worship since a monastery dedicated to St Peter was built there, giving the town its name.
The city is now famous for its superb 12th century Norman cathedral, as well as a wealth of history dating back to the Bronze Age. In addition to such heritage, Peterborough also offers residents three shopping centres, the City Market, regular farmers’ markets and craft fairs
Today, Peterborough has a population of around 173,100, which is set to increase to 190,700 by 2020. It is a major stop on the East Coast Main Line, with a journey time of just 45 minutes to and from London.
