East of England’s best business brains compete in annual charity quiz

More than £1,450 has been raised by business leaders and professional at a popular annual quiz night hosted by accountancy firm, Moore Thompson.

Some of East of England’s top firms battled it out during the competition of wits, which was held by the firm at the South Holland Centre in Spalding.

All money raised on the evening, which also included a raffle featuring prizes donated by local companies and organisations, will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK, which is why the firm decided to support the charity that helps youngsters and their families affected by the disease.

The winners on the night of the competition were the NatWest team from The Fens, which included Paul Barley, Keith Forrest, Paul Fox and David Ingamells.

Moore Thompson’s Partner, Craig Reid said: “Well done to all those who took part in this year’s quiz, we were delighted to see so many people join us and donate generously to this fantastic cause.

“Cancer is estimated to directly affect one in two people in the UK during their lifetime and the work that the Teenage Cancer Trust does for young people is truly spectacular. We hope the money we have raised will go some way to supporting their work.”

The firm’s own in-house charitable organisation, The MT Charity Fundraisers, which hosted the quiz has raised more than £14,198 for causes across the region in the last four years.

“We are immensely proud of our fundraising team at Moore Thompson. They go out of their way to select a number of worthy causes and raise fantastic amounts for them each and every year,” added Craig
