Grant funding opportunities for small homeless charities

Help the Homeless, a charitable organisation, is offering grants of up to £5,000 to assist small charities in their efforts to help homeless individuals reintegrate into the community and rebuild their lives.

Understanding the grant

Help the Homeless is committed to supporting organisations with a turnover of less than £500,000. These grants are particularly aimed at charities that operate residential or training facilities for homeless people.

What the grants cover

The grants are designated for capital costs. Examples of previously supported projects include:

  • The Booth Centre in Manchester – This advice and activity centre for homeless people received a grant of £1,500. The funding was used for new lighting, a new water heater, and redecoration, enhancing the centre’s ability to provide education, training, advice, and food.
  • The Amber Foundation – A grant of £3,000 was awarded to this Foundation to purchase new bedroom furniture for their residential centre in Devon. This centre supports over 60 unemployed, homeless young people annually, helping them to rebuild their lives and gain essential skills for independent living.
