{"id":24166,"date":"2023-10-25T12:48:38","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T12:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/?p=24166"},"modified":"2023-10-25T12:48:38","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T12:48:38","slug":"important-update-on-fit-note-med-3-form-what-you-need-to-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/mt-pay\/payroll-press-articles\/important-update-on-fit-note-med-3-form-what-you-need-to-know\/","title":{"rendered":"Important update on fit note (med 3) form &#8211; What you need to know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to bring your attention to some important updates regarding the fit note (med 3) form, as announced by the Government on 6 October 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key changes to the fit note include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The fit note should allow the employer and employee to discuss the employee\u2019s health; and to consider ways to help them stay in work or return in a phased or permanent basis.<\/li>\n<li>GPs and medical professionals can now send you fit notes digitally (where their IT system supports this). Inked signature fit notes are still a legally valid document.<\/li>\n<li>Extended availability within secondary care settings (hospitals), due to come into effect later this year.
