Small charities take centre stage

The spotlight will be turned on the UK’s smaller charities during a special week taking place in June.

Small Charity Week, which runs from 15-20 June, focuses on charities with a turnover of less than £1.5 million, providing them with a platform from which to publicise their work, find new volunteers and promote fundraising – including through initiatives created for Small Charity Week – as well as tapping into the knowledge of expert volunteers at one-to-one advice clinics.

The week was first established by the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI) charity in 2010 to celebrate and raise the profile of the small charity sector.

The FSI said: “Small Charity Week celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector who make an invaluable contribution to the lives of millions of individuals, communities and causes across the UK and the rest of the world.”
