{"id":19696,"date":"2022-06-17T11:15:25","date_gmt":"2022-06-17T11:15:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/?p=19696"},"modified":"2022-06-17T11:15:25","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T11:15:25","slug":"who-is-eligible-for-a-farming-transformation-fund-adding-value-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/who-is-eligible-for-a-farming-transformation-fund-adding-value-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Who is eligible for a Farming Transformation Fund Adding Value Grant?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19697\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/M.T.-Blog-Graphics-2022-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/M.T.-Blog-Graphics-2022-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/M.T.-Blog-Graphics-2022-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/M.T.-Blog-Graphics-2022-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.moorethompson.co.uk\/specialist-sectors-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/M.T.-Blog-Graphics-2022.png 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With inflation on the rise, along with Brexit impacting international trade, the farming industry will be glad for any additional support.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, it comes as good news that the long-awaited Farming Transformation Fund Adding Value Grant is now open for applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the grant? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the wider Farming Transformation Fund, the Adding Value Grant is open to growers or producers of agricultural or horticultural produce.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of the funding is to assist producers in adding value to agricultural products after they have been harvested or reared.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible farmers can apply for a grant amounting to between \u00a325,000 to \u00a3300,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is eligible? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the Government, growers or producers of the following agricultural products can apply for a grant:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arable and horticultural crops<\/li>\n<li>Livestock<\/li>\n<li>Non-food crops (such as fodder, fibre, and flowers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The grant is also available to businesses that process the above produce, providing that at least 50 per cent of the business is owned by producers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How could you use the grant? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Adding Value grant can be used to pay for capital items, including machinery, equipment or buildings that will add value to the process.<\/p>\n<p>Such projects could include processing agricultural products into new products or adding value to the existing products (including packaging, sorting, grading, etc).<\/p>\n<p>The projects could also focus on generating wider benefits for the environment or promote new collaborations of partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Make note that this is a competitive grant, and the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) will prioritise projects that meet a range of the funding aims.
