St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation Hospice grants
The Dying at Home with Dignity grant programme, created by St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation Hospice Grants, is aimed at providing hospice and palliative care for terminally ill individuals at home.
The programme is designed to encourage hospices to expand their services to new client groups and their carers or families. It supports innovative projects that deliver person-centred care and make a tangible difference to those dying at home.
Funding and eligibility
Grants of up to £40,000 are available, supporting projects over an 18-month period. This includes a setup phase, project delivery, and additional time for unforeseen delays. The total funding available in this round is £500,000, with an expectation to award between twelve and fifteen grants.
Eligible organisations must be UK-based and members of Hospice UK, including adult and children’s hospices. However, hospices that received a grant in the 2022 Rural and Remote Communities programme are not eligible for this round.
Project scope
Projects could range from hospice care at home, early identification in collaboration with GPs, rapid hospital discharge, setting up 24/7 contact points, to support for family carers and at-home support for various patient groups. The goal is to establish best practice frameworks and encourage collaboration among hospices.
Application process
The deadline for applications is 17:00 on Monday 29 January 2024. Applicants will be notified of their status by mid-March 2024.
This grant is an opportunity for hospices to innovate, expand their reach, and share best practices, with the chance of being part of a movement that values dignity in end-of-life care.
