The clock is ticking – file online or face the consequences

Taxpayers who have still not filed a tax return for 2015-16 have just a few days left to take urgent action if they want to avoid paying a fine.

Online returns, including balancing payments, need to be filed by midnight on 31 January 2017. After that date – even if you have no tax to pay – you will receive an automatic £100 late filing penalty.

To avoid the penalty, taxpayers must submit an online return before the 31 January deadline. If you have not already done so, please seek urgent help from the team at Moore Thompson so that penalties can be avoided
