Trustee forum in awards spotlight

Moore Thompson’s work to support charity trustees has been celebrated at a Lincolnshire awards event.

The firm was shortlisted in the Employer Supported Volunteering category of the Recognition, Awards & Achievements, organised Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service but was pipped at the post when the winners were announced at an awards event held at Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre in Boston on 30 January.

The award recognised an employer who had made an outstanding contribution to their local community and Moore Thompson was nominated for setting up a trustee forum, which meets on a monthly basis so that local charity trustees can network and benefit from each other’s experience.

Managing partner Mark Hildred said: “We were delighted to have been nominated in these awards.

“While we didn’t go home with the award, it is encouraging to know that the valuable support our forum provides to local trustees has been recognised.

Recognition, Awards & Achievements was organised by Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service to acknowledge the wide-ranging work done by the charities, organisations and individuals it works with.

More Thompson has extensive experience in working with charities, advising on issues including the new charity Statements of Recommended Practice, effective from 1 January this year, charity structures, tax and VAT compliance and planning and commercial activities.
