Moore Thompson invests in its future with Partner promotion

An experienced accountant, with a passion to drive continued growth, has been appointed as the newest Partner at one of the East of England’s leading accountancy firms.

Michell Cozens has been promoted to Partner at the firm’s office in Wisbech, following years of dedication to the firm and its clients.

She originally joined the team in 2008 following the merger with Stephenson Smart & Co. and has more than 20 years’ experience in the profession, where she provides guidance to businesses across a variety of industries.

Her particular area of expertise is tax planning, where she supports clients to create highly personalised tax plans, which ensure they remain compliant with the latest tax legislation.

Michelle also leads the firm’s trust administration services, specialising in agricultural clients and providing ongoing support through proactive advice and financial forecasting.

Speaking about her promotion to Partner, Michelle said: “To be taking up this role at such an exciting time in our practice’s history fills me with pride.

“All of the Partners and staff have been so supportive of me and I can’t wait to play more of a role in the ongoing growth of Moore Thompson as part of the senior leadership team.”

Moore Thompson was recently acquired by the Sumer Group to support its plans for expansion and the ongoing development of its own team.

Mark Hildred, Managing Partner at Moore Thompson, said: “Michelle has made an incredible contribution to our success as a firm and so we are delighted that she is taking up her new role as a Partner.

“As part of the Sumer Group, we are really looking forward to being able to offer more of our team the opportunity to progress. This builds on our long history of developing some of the most talented professionals in the region.”
