Don’t forget to keep a close eye on the clock

It’s that time of the year already. The darker nights will very soon be with us as the clocks go back one hour on Sunday 30 October. But that’s not the only reason to keep an eye on the clock…

If you have not yet done so, you have only a few days to beat the deadline for paper self-assessment tax returns.

These must be received by HMRC no later than midnight on Monday 31 October.

The deadline coincidentally happens to fall on Halloween, so to avoid the prospect of scary penalties for late filing, take action now.

If you choose to submit your tax returns online you still have a little more time as the deadline is 31 January 2023 but it pays plan ahead and set aside some time to deal with these well ahead of the deadline.

At Moore Thompson we provide a range of services to keep clients both tax-efficient and fully compliant. For more information about what we do, please contact us.
