Moore Thompson celebrates the retirement of two esteemed team members after decades of service
Moore Thompson, one of the East of England’s leading accountancy firms, is celebrating the remarkable contributions of two longstanding team members.
Chris Wright and Stephen Page are retiring after decades of dedicated service. Their combined expertise, leadership, and commitment have been instrumental in the firm’s success and growth.
Chris steps down after an accomplished career spanning multiple decades, including 15 years as a Partner at Moore Thompson following the firm’s 2008 merger with a local practice where Chris was also a Partner.
Despite retiring as a Partner from the firm, Chris will continue to offer this expertise to clients as a consultant working three days a week.
Chris’s extensive career began at a Big Four practice, where he gained valuable experience in audit, corporate finance, and systems reviews for large and medium-sized companies.
At Moore Thompson, Chris has specialised in working with small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses, particularly in the farming, food processing, and service industry sectors.
His expertise extended to advising clients on the sale and purchase of businesses, business development, and succession planning, as well as providing proactive tax planning advice to individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
“Chris’s personal approach to client relationships has been a hallmark of his career,” said Mark Hildred, Managing Partner at Moore Thompson. “His ability to deliver tailored advice and see the positive impact of his work has been a source of pride for both Chris and the firm.
“We thank Chris for his immense contributions and look forward to his ongoing support as a consultant.”
Stephen Page who served as Senior Tax Manager at the firm’s Spalding office, has also retired after an incredible 43 years with Moore Thompson.
Joining the firm in 1981, Stephen quickly established himself as a trusted expert in taxation, rising through the ranks to become an invaluable member of the team.
To mark his retirement, a heartfelt presentation was held, during which Mark Hildred presented gifts to Stephen.
Karen Page, Stephen’s wife, was also recognised with a bouquet of flowers for her support throughout his career.
“Stephen’s commitment and contributions to Moore Thompson have been truly exceptional,” said Mark Hildred. “His dedication to his clients and colleagues has left a lasting legacy, and he will be greatly missed. We wish Stephen and Karen all the very best for the future.”
