Moore Thompson marks 100 years with unforgettable festival celebration
Sunday 27 July 2025 saw one of the East of England’s leading accountancy and tax advisory firms, Moore Thompson, celebrate its 100th anniversary in style with a festival-themed event at Crown Hall Farm in Spalding.
The 100-Year Fest brought together staff, clients, families, and friends for a relaxed day of music, food, and entertainment.
Founded in 1925, Moore Thompson has grown from a small local practice into a respected regional firm with offices in Wisbech, Spalding, Market Deeping, Peterborough, and Stamford.
This event formed part of a year-long programme of centenary celebrations aimed at thanking those who have supported the firm’s journey so far.
“We didn’t want a formal dinner or a line-up of speeches,” said Mark Hildred, Managing Partner of Moore Thompson.
“We wanted to say thank you in a way that felt authentic to who we are and gave people a reason to celebrate with us.”
“A lot has changed in the last 100 years, both within our firm and in the world around us, but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to the people we work with,” he added.
“Some of our clients have been with us for generations, others have joined us more recently, but each relationship is treated with the same care, honesty and attention.”
Guests were welcomed with drinks on arrival and given festival-style wristbands to set the tone.
A wide variety of activities were available throughout the day, including vintage games, crazy golf, a VR simulator, and live performances from MB Live Band.
Food was also a highlight, with wood-fired pizza and BBQ served during the day and a traditional hog roast in the evening.
“We wanted the day to be memorable, not just while it was happening, but afterwards too,” Mark said.
“The wristbands were a simple keepsake, something people could take home as a reminder of the occasion.”
Over the years, Moore Thompson has seen its fair share of change, from economic ups and downs to new rules, new expectations, and the day-to-day challenges of running a business.
What remains unchanged is the firm’s commitment to showing up for its clients with honesty, consistency and excellence.
“I just want to say thank you to the people who’ve been with us for decades, and to those who’ve only recently come on board,” said Mark.
“Reaching 100 years isn’t something that happens without loyalty, hard work and support. We don’t take that for granted.”
