Moore Thompson Partner pedals his way to raise thousands for charity
A Partner at one of the East of England’s leading accountancy firms, Moore Thompson, has raised almost £4,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity and Alzheimer’s Society by completing the RideLondon-Essex 100.
Chris Wright competed in the 100-mile cycle ride alongside his son Ollie and his friend Tim Willis to raise money for these two incredible causes.
Joining thousands of riders, they traversed the busy streets of London and the beautiful lanes of Essex in this popular annual charity ride.
Even before setting off, Chris and his team had managed to raise thousands of pounds for these organisations, which are close to his heart.
However, by the time he crossed the finish line he had managed to raise an incredible £1,380 for The Brain Tumour Charity and £2,531 for Alzheimer’s Society. Many of the donations were kindly made by staff and clients of Moore Thompson.
Speaking about his ride, Chris said: “It was an incredible event and so amazing to join thousands of riders all doing their bit to raise money for charity.
“We have been blown away by the level of support shown and it really helped to drive us on as we pedalled our way to the finish line. I hope the money we have raised will make a difference in lots of people’s lives.”The highlight for Chris and his team was finishing over Tower Bridge, but the huge ice cream at 75 miles was a close second, he said.
The Brain Tumour Charity provides vital support and research funding to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
Meanwhile, the Alzheimer’s Society supports more than 850,000 people in the UK currently living with dementia by funding research and offering help and guidance.
Chris is already planning to take part in next year’s event to raise even more money for charity.
Mark Hildred, Managing Partner at Moore Thompson, said: “We are all extremely proud of what Chris has managed to achieve. This was no easy challenge, but he has risen to it and raised lots for some incredible causes.”
